Hands Up for Mental Health Initiative - Springtown (76082)
Safe Harbor Counseling Center is honored to serve as the lead organization for the Hands Up for Mental Health Initiative through a $300,000 Texas Health Community Impact grant. This initiative is focused on increasing access to mental health support and reducing health-related challenges for individuals and families living in the Springtown 76082 area.
Through a partnership with Joyful Ranch Counseling and First United Methodist Church of Springtown, the initiative brings together community resources to provide meaningful support for residents in an underserved area. Services include affordable counseling, equine-assisted and animal-assisted therapy opportunities, trauma-informed training for staff, and community groups and workshops designed to meet local needs.
Safe Harbor currently provides counseling services at First United Methodist Church and Neighbors to Neighbors in Springtown, helping make care more accessible to the community. In addition, First United Methodist Church continues to support local students through weekend food backpack programs, with hopes of expanding outreach through grant funding.
Safe Harbor is also collaborating with the City of Springtown and other community organizations to explore the development of a community garden that would encourage connection, wellness, and community involvement.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to bringing healing, hope, and practical support to individuals and families across Springtown. Safe Harbor Counseling Center is grateful for the partnership and support of Texas Health Resources and the many organizations working together to strengthen the community.
